‘We needed a fleet that was reliable and one that could fullfill the growing requirements of our consumers ,’ said Tony Stephens, Miele Fleet Operations Manager.

‘The VW van collection has constantly been popular with our technicians, so we were very pleased to progress to the new and more refined Transporter.  In addition to the quality and service we are delighted with the constantly strong resale values of the vehicles,’ he continued.

The added improvement , as well as enhanced fuel economy, lower noise and cleaner Euro5 emissions are thanks to Volkswagen’s latest 2.0-litre, four-cylinder common rail TDI engine which replaced the Transporter’s former 2.5-litre, five-cylinder unit.  Visually, the new Transporter is distinguished by its new frontal styling in line with the latest Volkswagen p***enger cars and now also has added safety features such as ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme) regular across the range.

Simon Elliott, Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, commented : ‘We’re very delightled to hear that the Transporter is so admired with Miele and the technicians that drive it every day.  We’re sure that the steps forward in quality and refinement of the latest models, combined with lesser operating costs, will also be much liked .’
